Let's get to work... |

According to IDC's report, "The Promise of Search", published in 2008, the average worker spends 9.5 hours
per week searching for documents, emails, and files. Whether it's as simple as an email you want to forward to your boss or a contract
you have to find for your legal department, a lot of unproductive time is spent searching. The term "Knowledge Worker" was coined by Peter Druker in 1959 to describe people who dealt with subject matter knowledge. In 2008 that applies to just about everyone. |

A little known fact is that 70% of data exists behind the firewall. But most search technologies have focused outside the firewall, or created solutions based on the
methodologies of internet search. Numerous articles, including one by Dan Woods in a Forbes article, point out the differences in solutions created specifically for searching behind the firewall; namely, richer user interfaces,
business process context, and heterogeneous content.
